A real estate entity connected to the Otto Group fortune heiress—Otto Group is the e-commerce juggernaut that includes the well-known decor chain Crate & Barrel—recently purchased the roughly 6,500-square-foot residence in an all-cash deal for $13.8 million, according to real estate sources familiar with the deal.

Set in the ultra-affluent enclave of Trousdale Estates, the four-bedroom home was built in 1966 but recently received sweeping renovations to meet contemporary tastes.

Midcentury trademarks, however, can still be seen throughout the home, like walls of movable glass, oversized living spaces and a single-story layout.

In addition to an office and wet bar, the Trousdale residence features a custom theater with tiered … [+] seating.

An array of stand-alone and wood facade partitions will perhaps become the setting for some of Otto-Bernstein’s renowned art collection, which includes works by Cézanne, Picasso and Grosz.

Attached to the rounded formal dining room is an impressive glass wine closet.

Custom built-ins and wallpaper create visual interest in the office, which has direct access to the … [+] pool area.

A motif of sleek lines and wood grains run throughout the house, seen in the overlay kitchen cabinetry, grey faux-wood wallpaper and vertical shelving behind a mirrored wet bar.

Other highlights include a cozy movie theatre, a primary bedroom with dual closets and dual bathrooms and a study with floor-to-ceiling built-ins.

A curved wine wall serves as the centerpiece of the circular dining room.

Grassy patches cleanly outline the home’s backyard spaces, including a fire pit, spa and swimming pool with a running waterfall.

The Emmy-nominated producer of HBO’s Mapplethorpe: Look at the Pictures currently sits at number 778 on the Forbes’ Real Time Billionaires list with a reported net worth of $3.8 billion. She is currently a member of the board of directors of the Metropolitan Opera as well as the International Council of the Guggenheim Museum.

A total of four bedrooms includes a large primary suite complete with floor to ceiling windows, dual … [+] closets and a spa-like bathroom.
