Music bingo in a variety of styles has been continuing to grow in popularity throughout the region and now it is time for fans to let the inner bogan out.
On Wednesday 6 September, the Lighthouse Hotel is encouraging locals to show their support for volunteer-based organisation the Sea Turtle Alliance with the ever-exciting Bogan Music Bingo.
Just 4 Fun Entertainment proprietor Lisa Hriljac said she currently holds events once a month at the Lighthouse Hotel, trying to incorporate artists performing at Lighthouse Rock (or country) where possible through Music Bingo or Trivia as it’s a great way to get locals excited about the upcoming Lighthouse Presents events and an even better opportunity to win tickets.
“The Lighthouse team are passionate about giving back to the community and always support charities who directly work to benefit the Bundaberg coastline, turtles or the Great Barrier Reef,” Lisa said.
“Bogan Bingo is just like Music Bingo however the playlist had been created to reflect the Aussie spirit with popular songs you’d likely hear at a backyard barbecue and include artists such as Shannon Noll, Kevin Bloody Wilson and The Angels.
“We hope to see everyone in their bogan best, nothing is off limits.
“Flannos, singlets, thongs, slippers, mullets, VB T-Shirts, BBQ Dads with big tongs – the options are endless.
“There will be prizes for Best Dressed and we hope to see some creative, original outfits.”
The Sea Turtle Alliance president Ainsley Gatley said they were lucky to have the support of the Burnett Heads community who share a commitment and passion for the loggerhead turtles.
“Due to past support, we have been able to install a cage on Oaks Beach to help protect the eggs and emerging hatchling,” Ainsley said.
“Oaks Beach has turtles nesting on this beach and by protecting the turtles and their clutches we are working to put as many hatchlings back into the ocean as possible.
“Hatchlings tend to return to the beach they were born so by working now to support these hatchlings we are also working towards ensuring a future for these endangered marine turtles.
“Residents of Burnett Heads are lucky to have this right on their doorstep and are committed to protecting this environment.
“Events such as this one are important to raise funds and invest back into our environment.”
