Sep. 19—GOSHEN — Commissioners approved a request by Paul Alvey, Robert Deering and Deanna Deearing, and Marion Schrock and Brenda Schrock for a zone map change for a property at 58490 Crossview Lane in Baugo Township. About 20 years ago the 11 acres of property existed as Voice Ministries. The property was sold and split up among three parties. A new owner requested the commissioners rezoned the property, currently a Detailed Planned Unit Development, to residential, so he can build a single-family home on it. The commissioners approved the request.
—Randall Jacobs was approved as a board member to the Goshen Public Library Board.
—The Elkhart County Commissioners approved an interlocal agreement with Goshen for the reconstruction of C.R. 35 on the southeast side of Goshen. The county will pay about one-third, based on the amount of property in the agreement, about $78,000.
—Commissioners approved a CHIRP grant application designed to help police encourage safe driving across the county.
—The Elkhart County Landfill received permission to advertise some necessary gas work and cell expansion to be constructed next summer.
—Commissioners approved an additional appropriation for a spring installment of Love’s allocation area from the Northeast Corridor Tax Increment Finance Fund for $89,337.74.
