A new community in Chelmsford is set to be built as 194 homes are set to be developed. Construction to create the new properties in Beaulieu has recently started after development plans were approved in January by Chelmsford City Council.
The houses are being created on 12.1 acre land located off Essex Regiment Way. Residential property developer Bellway will construct 142 private homes, including two to four-bedroom houses and one and two-bedroom apartments. While the remaining 52 homes will consist of homes for local people through shared ownership or low-cost rent.
The first set of homes are expected to be on the market towards the end of the year and the on-site launch for the development is scheduled for spring 2023. Beaulieu has a range of facilities including shops, cafes, takeaways, a dental surgery, veterinary surgery, day nursery, community centre and Beaulieu Park School.

In addition, a health centre is going to be built and a new railway station has been proposed. Jenny Walker, Sales Director for Bellway Essex, said: “Beaulieu is an important extension to Chelmsford, providing around 3,000 homes altogether.
