Ludhiana: A day after Ludhiana Police booked MC officer S S Bindra, his son, nephew and restaurant staff for attempt to murder after they allegedly attacked an investment adviser and his guests during a party at his restaurant, no arrest has been made. Police say they are yet to “verify the facts” before taking further action.
Acting on the complaint of 35-year-old Anirudh Garg of Rajguru Nagar, Sarabha Nagar police booked S S Bindra, his son Puneet Bindra, nephew Gurkirat Bindra and managers of Baklavi restaurant at South city road, Pawan and Manoj, for attempt to murder after they allegedly attacked an investment adviser and his guests during a party at the restaurant on Friday night.
Ludhiana police commissioner Dr Kaustabh Sharma said that the accused had also given an application to him alleging that that they were also attacked and one of them received injuries in the arm inflicted by the other group. He added that he had asked joint CP (City) Narendra Bhargav to verify the facts and take necessary action under the law on the basis of his findings.
Anirudh Garg alleged that the accused were showing shoulder dislocation and self inflicted wound as injury to get a cross FIR registered to pressurise them into a compromise. He added that they would meet the DGP and chief minister for an inquiry by an IPS officer.
The complainant alleged that the accused hit him on the head twice with a rod, his uncle’s arm was fractured in three places and his friend Karan Goel was in ICU.
S S Bindra could not be contacted but another accused, Manmeet Singh Bindra said a that few guests, who were all drunk, started abusing his staff and managers. He claimed that they threw plates and assaulted the restaurant staff.
