Insurer adds coastal property coverage for small, midsized firms

SureChoice Underwriters Reciprocal Exchange, a Houston-based member-owned insurance company that offers coastal property coverage through SageSure Insurance Managers LLC, has launched its first commercial insurance product for small- and medium-sized businesses in Texas.

SURE’s business owners policy combines property and general liability coverage in one policy, underwritten and distributed by SageSure.

Coverage is available for more than 300 business classes, including restaurants, retail, offices, service and processing, wholesale and lessors. Limits are $5 million per location and $10 million total, according to an email from a SURE spokesman.

Ed Konar, president of SURE, said in a statement that expanding product offerings is key to its goal to be a source of reliable admitted capacity in coastal regions.
