ALBANY — Nigro Retail Properties has appointed a former leader of a Colonie-based accounting firm as its new chief financial officer.

This week, the real estate development company announced the appointment of Rick Jones, 56, formerly the chief executive officer of the Wojeski & Company CPAs accounting firm. In a statement, Lisa Nigro Ferguson, Nigro Retail Properties’ CEO, called Jones among the area’s “most talented executives,” with a “keen business mind, strategic vision and commitment to integrity.”

“We welcome him as a leader to Nigro Retail Properties and are confident he will make an immediate and significant positive impact to our organization as we continue to respond to evolving consumer preferences and behavior in the retail real estate sector,” Ferguson said.

Jones said he looks forward to working with Ferguson, John Nigro, the company’s president, and vice president Jessica Nigro Dailey.

“The Nigro family’s values and commitment to community help drive its business decisions and strategies,” Jones said. “It’s part of the company culture and simply who they are.”
