Property consultancy Bruton Knowles’ Plymouth office has been acquired by Sanderson Weatherall.
Leeds-based Sanderson Weatherall, an independent firm of commercial property agents and chartered surveyors, now has nine offices across the UK and the company said the deal, financial details of which were not disclosed, would strengthen its service across the South West, where it already has a base in Bristol.
With the agreement, Ashleigh Phillips has joined Sanderson Weatherall as partner and head of office, alongside long standing colleague Ian Le Grice, who also joins as partner.

David Rastrick, chief operating officer at Sanderson Weatherall, said: “This is a strategic acquisition for the firm, allowing us to expand our South West client base further and deliver a full service offering across the region between our teams in the new Plymouth office and established Bristol office.
“Ashleigh and Ian have excellent reputations in the south west market and I am delighted that they have chosen to join Sanderson Weatherall and we look forward to helping them to grow the team and deliver the quality and range of services that the firm is known for.”
Ashleigh Phillips, head of Plymouth office added: “This is a fantastic opportunity for us to join a forward-thinking firm with similar values to ours. We are also pleased that the agreement reached allows both Ian and I to continue business as usual for our existing and longstanding clients. We are excited to be bringing the Sanderson Weatherall brand to Plymouth.”
James Bailey, managing partner at Bruton Knowles, commented: “We are very pleased to have negotiated just the right deal with Sanderson Weatherall with regard to the property and the associated move of Ashleigh and Ian – both of whom we wish the very best for the future. It’s a win-win situation for all parties, and one which allows Bruton Knowles to pursue new endeavours and locations in the South West region, close to new client hotspots.”
Bruton Knowles recently reopened its Taunton office in Somerset and opened the doors to a new base in Wimborne, Dorset.
