In partnership with Northwest Kansas Economic Innovation Center, Inc. and the Kansas Department of Commerce there will be special housing meetings in Lucas at 1:30 PM and in Russell at 3:30 PM on Wednesday, July 13.
The Kansas Housing Resources Corporation (KHRC) now has $67 million to invest into moderate income housing in Kansas. They will be awarding $5 million each quarter and local organizations would like to see as much of that as possible spent in northwest Kansas.
To help facilitate good quality applications to the KHRC, Randy Speaker, Housing Specialist with the Kansas Department of Commerce, has agreed to give this region three days of his time to meet with community leaders on what opportunities are available to build a housing development in the community. There are many resources and programs that can be stacked together to fund a housing project.
The meeting in Lucas at 1:30 PM on July 13 will be at the Lucas Community Center at 135 South Main Street, south side entrance. And the meeting in Russell at 3:30 PM on July 13 will be at the Fossil Creek Hotel and Suites Dole-Specter Conference Center on South Fossil Street.
